Hey Clarkies!
Just a reminder that classes start Saturday, August 16th! There will be no
class Aug. 30th due to the holiday weekend. Our last Monday night class will be
this coming Monday, August. 11th from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Below you will find the
class schedules for the fall - we hope to see you all there!
Classes at Clark Theatre
From Page to Stage
What makes a good play? Learn what makes a script effective onstage.
Saturdays 10:30-11:30 am, August 16-Sept 13. Cost is $17. Ages 12-18.
Directing
This 4 week class introduces the student to blocking, casting, and rehearsal
techniques.
Saturdays 10:30-11:30 am, September 20-October 11. Cost is $22. Ages 12-18.
Play Reading
We will be reading aloud a variety of both classic and youth oriented plays.
Saturdays 10:30-11:30 am, October 18-December 13. Cost is $22. Ages 10-18.
Clark Laughing Matter
Learn improv games like you see on TV! Improvisation increases creativity and
basic performance skills. Public performances given once approx. every 8 weeks.
Saturdays 12-1:30, Aug 16-December 20 except for holidays. Cost is $32 per
semester. Ages 12-18. Performances are October 11 and December 20, both at
7:30 pm.
Home School Drama
Taught by Deborah Bradshaw, this class is designed for home-schooled students
aged 10-17. Goals: To provide students with an introduction to theatre through
individual and group drama experiences. The class will culminate with a final
presentation that will demonstrate the performance skills and talents of the
students.
Wednesdays 9-11 am, September 3 through November 19. Ages 10-17.
Cost is $85 total for 12 classes.
Creative Writing for Teens
Each week the class will focus on a writing exercise. We will also provide
gentle positive feed back for all levels of writing. Please bring a journal to
class.
Saturdays 1:45-2:45, August 16-December 13. Cost is $32. Ages 12-18.
Footlights or Onstage membership of $60.00 entitles students to attend all Clark
classes for 12 months for free except for Home School Drama. Must register with
Clark staff for membership. Clark Theatre is located at 11440 E. Admiral, ¼
mile east of Garnett.
