Inductee of the Week:
Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey

2003 Legacy Tribute Award Inductee

Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey pulls influences from almost every genre of music to create
a distinctive sound of its own, one often described as quirky, abstract or excentric,
but with a deep commitment to improvisation at its core.

Formed in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1994, JFJO has evolved
from an octet to a trio in 1999 to the current quartet in 2009. The
present band consists of founder Brian Haas on keyboards, Chris Combs on guitar
and lap steel, Jeff Harshbarger on upright bass, and Josh Raymer on drums.

Sunday, August 1, 5pm - David Teegarden and his Quartet
With special guest vocalist Chuck Cissel - David T comes back to the Jazz Depot
for a return engagement after a jam-packed concert last summer that left the audience
begging for more. David has worked with superstars J.J. Cale, Eric Clapton, and
Joe Walsh. In 1981, David won a Grammy for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group
with Vocal for "Against" the Wind" with Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band. Don't

Gardner,Sonny
Gray, Jon Glazer and Pat Murray
Four of Tulsa's top jazz pianists get a chance to "play music from the heart" and
accompany three of the Jazz Hall's favorite singers - Angie ----, Dionne White
and Leah Joelle. A magical afternoon with three flawless singers, and the superb
talents of four heralded jazz pianists. A must-see!

The Depot was swinging on Sunday evening with Denny Morouse and his Jazz all stars
- David John, Jim Bates, Jerod Johnson and Scott McQuade, with the always-lovely
Annie Ellicott. It was a fabulous show. Tulsa is blessed to have such talent
here!
In the past week we also had a beautiful wedding, a corporate dinner, and packed
up and shipped out the Jazz Ambassadors photo exhibit to its next venue. This
is a happenin' place.
See you on Thursday (we can't wait to hear a jazz harp!) - and Sunday,
