G-Rated Performing Arts will be holding auditions for an originally written play, entitled The Christian Carol.
Christ Family Church offers G-Rated Performing Arts to the community providing theatrical opportunities to local minority actors and actresses. Summary of Christian Carol

Story of Marcus Brown
Marcus is a compulsive alcoholic. The play begins with Marcus having drinks at a bar with his friends. When he finally comes home, after midnight, he opens the door to a very unhappy wife. Marcus and Mia have been married for 6 years and only 1 year of their marriage has been good. The rest of the years were spent arguing and fighting the fact that Marcus will not stop drinking and about him being selfish. Mia is so angry, that she forces Marcus to sleep on the couch.

In a drunken slumber, the spirit of his Aunt Clorine comes to visit him. Aunt Clorine is upset with him because he promised to take care of Mia and he broke his promise. She tells him that he will be visited by 3 angels. When the angels come, they show him times when he was delivered from alcohol the first time, his downfall, people who care about him, and friends only want to see him fail. He is also shown his future and is given a wakeup call to get his life together or risk losing his wife, family, and even his life.

Characters
Marcus:
Main Character. Personality is bitter and self-centered. Male between the ages of 20-40

Mia:
Marcus’s wife; Friendly and considerate Christian woman. More laid back; However, Mia is a very strong character and she stands her ground. Female between the ages of 20-40

Reggie:
Marcus’s Cousin and Aunt Clorine’s Son. A powerful man of God, who loves Marcus like a brother and is compassionate about family. Male between the ages of 20-40

Carrie:
Reggie’s Wife. A Woman of God that is strong minded and stays positive. Carrie is always smiling. Female between the ages of 20-40

Paul:
One of the Leaders at Marcus and Mia’s church. But, Paul has a pretty boy and ladies’ man type of attitude; In love with Mia and wants Mia to leave Marcus for him. Male between the ages of 20-50

Moose:
Marcus’s so-called friend; Alcoholic, A Moocher, Unemployed, and a Weed head; Tends to keep Marcus in trouble with family and responsibility. Male between the ages of 20-50

Joey the Maid:
A constant inebriated barmaid; Has a crush on Marcus and wants him to divorce his wife and be with her. Looking for someone who is will to be ghetto and unattractive. Female between the ages of 20-40

Aunt Clorine:
Reggie’s mother and Marcus aunt; Prevailing and humorous woman of God; Female between the ages of 40-70

Angel of Christian Past:
A preachy, Holy rolling Angel; Outrageously Spirit Filled. Character can be played by a male or female

Angel of Christian Present:
A business-minded intolerant Angel that takes no mess and keeps it real. Character must be played by a Female

Angel of Christian Future:
Silent Angel. Has no lines, but has a strange position.

Jonathan:
Marcus’s and Mia’s future rebellious son. Male between the ages of 15-20
