ThunderRoad Theater is the longest-running Native theater company with multiple members who are not related by blood. ThunderRoad is a community-based theater company drawing upon theater workers from Tulsa and northeastern Oklahoma and a predominantly Indian board of directors. TRT’s mission is to present quality works by contemporary Native playwrights and to train Native Americans in acting, directing, playwriting and technical theater. We are an inclusive group that welcomes anyone interested in Native cultures. We believe that live theater can help effect social change and serve as a bridge of understanding between the Indian and non-Indian communities. |
