The History & Mission Statement for
Broken Arrow Community Playhouse

In 1979 a group of Broken Arrow residents organized their desire to bring the experience of artistic quality to their neighbors. The Playhouse founders were determined to do more than "put on a play"; they wanted to build an organization which would provide a vital, fun way to be involved in, and add to, the cultural life of the community. Through an outpouring of community spirit, The Broken Arrow Community Playhouse was founded in 1980. The Playhouse was to give expression to the love of performing arts, as well as serve as a source of interest in community involvement. The 56 charter members pooled their volunteer time and talents and on April 17, 1980, opened the first production "Harvey."

Our Mission Statement: "To provide a quality theatrical experience for the community, to encourage and develop new and existing talent in all phases of theatrical management and production, to serve and represent the Broken Arrow community responsibly and with pride through all of its theatrical activities."
